How to find your dream car online

Browse the website to find your dream car.

THE new County Press online motors section is helping Islanders find their dream car.

Since the launch of the new easy-to-use site, car dealers and private sellers have reported an increase in activity, resulting in many sales across the Island.

One Island company to benefit is Shalfleet-based business, PrimeDrive.

Chris Cornford, who runs PrimeDrive with Jacqui McCartney, said: "Since the site was launched, we have had a lot interest from people looking to buy a car.

"People have told us they saw our cars on the County Press website — we have found the response very good so far and we have sold several cars through it."

As well as used car and camper van sales, PrimeDrive also specialises in car, van and minibus rental and covers a wide range of vehicle servicing and maintenance, including MoTs.

l You can search for your next vehicle by clicking the drop down box and selecting one of the categories — 4x4, Commercial/ Vans, Convertible, Estate, Hatch, Motorhome, MPV or Saloon.

There are more than 20 makes of vehicle to choose from and if there is a particular model you are looking for, just type it into the box next to it.

Search results can be put into order of car year, make, A-Z order, date the vehicle was listed and price order. You can also choose to search for a specific dealer on the Island and see what they have available, via a link to their website.

Click the advanced search button to search in a specific price range, as well as the condition of the vehicle, transmission, fuel type, mileage and model year range.

When you have found a car, just click on its photo and a page will load with all the important information about it. This includes registration number and interior and exterior colour.

Comparing vehicles is something any prospective buyer will do, so there is an option to add up to three vehicles to a shortlist. You can also print off the page with all the vehicle information, or e-mail the details to a friend’s computer, or their iPhone.

When you find a vehicle you like, contact the seller and arrange to have a look.

The number of vehicles on the site is increasing daily, so keep an eye out for new additions.

• To sell your car as a private sale, telephone 01983 526741. It will cost £20 to promote selling your car in print and online and if you need photos taken of your car, internal and exterior shots are arranged for £10.

Who knew finding your dream car could be so simple?
