STADDLESTONES Nissan at Ryde will be under the microscope from today and all weekend, as Close Up: A Weekend Designed by Nissan, takes place at the dealership.

The event is a celebration of the Nissan design ethic manifested in the latest QASHQAI and Cube models.

Staddlestones Nissan is inviting customers to the Brading Road dealership to view the two stunning new models. A dedicated design area will allow guests to get an insight into the attitudes, inspirations and processes involved in Nissan’s innovative and forward-thinking design ethos, through audio-visual displays.

The new models capture the essence of Nissan design perfectly; the Cube is undoubtedly one of the most iconic automotive designs to emerge in recent years. Cute and quirky, the Cube was named as one of the top 50 cars that changed the world by the London Design Museum.

Refinement is the watch-word for the revised 2010 QASHQAI. Built at Nissan’s Sunderland plant, the most notable visual change to the QASHQAI is at the front, where a complete makeover has taken place, with new bonnet, front bumper, wings, grille and headlampsThe new front-end design is shared with QASHQAI+2.

All visitors to the event will be entered into a national prize draw to win a trip to Japan, to experience the thriving metropolis that inspires much of Nissan’s design culture and philosophy.

The prize includes return premium economy tickets to Tokyo, seven nights stay at the Park Hotel, Tokyo, £1,000 spending money and a Samsung HD flash camcorder to record the experience.

One visitor to Staddlestones Nissan, Ryde, will win £250 in vouchers to spend at design-orientated store Habitat.

Chris Perkis, director at Staddlestones Nissan, said: "The close-up weekend is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Nissan’s new models."
