What a week for new models

The Honda VFR 1200F was launched at Church Street Motorcycles, Ventnor.

ISLANDERS flocked to two vehicle launches recently.

The new Peugeot 5008 was officially unveiled at Staddlestones Peugeot, Bembridge, while the new Honda VFR1200F shot onto the scene at Church Street Motorcycles, Ventnor, last Saturday.

The Peugeot 5008 is the French manufacturer’s new compact MPV and this stylish car is comparatively small on the outside, yet sits up to seven people in comfort.

Refreshments were laid on and also on display was the Peugeot 3008 crossover, which was launched last autumn and has proved to be a great success at Staddlestones Peugeot.

Jon Kilby, sales manager at Staddlestones Peugeot, said: "We had a superb evening and the two new vehicles were very well received.

"We have booked several test drives and we had lots of visitors to the garage — some who are customers and some who are new to us."

At Church Street Motorcycles, the limelight belonged to the new Honda VFR1200F, an eye-catching V4-powered sports tourer, which blends sophisticated design with Honda’s renowned engineering.

Refreshments were laid on and, as it was Valentine’s weekend, there was a nationwide Honda competition to win a break in Paris.

Adrian Wheeler, proprietor of Church Street Motorcycles, said: "The launch went very well and there was a good reaction to the bike in general.

"We have had test rides booked and have several strong sales prospects as a result of the launch."
