Album deal for Gareth

Gareth Icke on stage at Bestival.

MUSIC MUSICIAN Gareth Icke has signed a deal with a Manchester-based label to release his new album, out on Monday.

Gareth, who released his last album, It Gets Worse at Night, in 2009, recorded his latest LP, A Brand New Battle, at Studio 5a in Northwood, with Claydon Connor and Guy Page.

Recording was interrupted for two months after Gareth broke his leg in a football match.

Despite the setback, however, he completed the album and was then surprised to get a call from Eromenos, which wanted to release the album.

"I hadn’t sent it to any labels. I had been through all that with the band, Kody, and spent years sending records off. I decided with this one I was going to release it myself and then I had a call from Eromenos," said Gareth.

Gareth had the chance to showcase some of his new material at Bestival, where he performed at the start of a talk given by his father, David Icke.

He will have the chance to do the same at Wembley Arena on October 27, when he will perform at David’s event, Remember Who You Are, in front of thousands of people.

The album will be available from record stores including HMV on the IW.
