VAUNTED indie-outfit Eight Legs will kick off a new Island music night, inspired by the Berlin club scene.

Radieux has been established by The Shutes frontman Michael Champion and friend Mike Yates, who hope to bring some of the UK’s hottest talent to the Island.

"We were talking about music on the Island and realised there’s no real venues doing alternative music.

"It’s been surprising how easy it has been to set up, we have have had a lot of help from friends," said Michael.

"We played a few shows in Berlin last year and I was amazed at the vibrancy of the club culture. The DJs were playing the coolest music and the venues were packed. There’s no reason why those kind of alternative events can’t translate to an IW sensibility," he added

Eight Legs will headline the first Radieux, at The Studio, Newport, on Saturday, February 20.

The band recently supported The Cribs and The Pigeon Detectives and played at the launch of Hedi Slimane’s new fashion range.

The Shutes support, doors open at 8pm.
