Addiscombe 6 Kenley 1

Surrey Men's Division Two league leaders Addiscombe returned to winning ways after the previous weekend's draw with a comfortable victory over Kenley.

Kenley made a spirited start but once Addiscombe established a hold on the midfield the result was never in doubt.

Addiscombe took the lead when Martin Stevens touched home a fine through ball from Dan Dorman.

The advantage was increased when leading marksman Neil Wray was presented with an open goal after another excellent run from Dorman, whose stick skills and pace baffled the Kenley defence throughout.

Kenley came back at Addiscombe and were rewarded with a goal from a short corner shortly before half-time.

After the interval Addiscombe restricted Kenley to attacking on the break.

Stevens touched in his second for Addiscombe after Yeates and Reid had worked an opening before Wray put away his second, smartly latching onto Yeates' wayward shot and leaving the Kenley keeper stranded.

Dorman scored the goal of the match after evading a series of desperate tackles for Addiscombe's fifth before Stevens completed his hat-trick after the keeper failed to clear his first two efforts.

The victory keeps Addiscombe eight points clear at the top of the table.

Addiscombe's third XI went down 3-1 away at Merton in what was a disappointing result for the third-placed Croydon side. Danny Clark was the scorer of their consolation goal.
