Chance for young talent as Dan returns to Island

MUSIC DAN Cassidy, brother of the late Eva Cassidy, will return to the IW for his first gig here since 2010.

Dan was due to perform with James Hickman last year but they had to scrap the gig as Dan’s wife was about to give birth.

Promoter Vic King, of Vaguely Sunny, said: "James Hickman, from Shrewsbury, is the lead singer, an excellent interpreter of folk song and an emotive songwriter.

"Their music is influenced by the traditions of both Britain and Americ," he added.

"Eva Cassidy’s music has enjoyed enormous popularity in recent years. Dan appears on several of her recordings."

Young Island singer, Charlotte Callaghan, will support them at both gigs.

The first concert is at St Mary’s Church, Brading, tomorrow (Saturday) and the second is at Dimbola Lodge, Freshwater Bay, on Sunday.

Both gigs are at 7.45pm. For tickets phone 01983 730930.
