Exchange team celebrates Record Store Day

The Ventnor Fringe team outside the Post Office, which is to become Ventnor Exchange.

THE team behind the Ventnor Fringe Festival and new arts hub Ventnor Exchange are to host a gig in an 11th century church to coincide with national Record Store Day.

Tomorrow (Saturday) events will be held across the country to promote independent music retailers, such as Ventnor Exchange, which is due to open in the former Ventnor Post Office this summer.

As part of their events, the Exchange team has organised a performance by Alessi's Ark, to take place in the atmospheric surroundings of the old church in Bonchurch.

Alessi has toured with the likes of Laura Marling and Laura Viers and has already released three of her own albums at the age of 22.

Tickets are available from the Ventnor Exchange website.

Earlier in the day the Exchange will be host a Garden Party with Red Squirrel Productions at its home in Grove Road, Ventnor.

There will be a vinyl market, BBQ and live performances throughout the day. Entry is simply via a donation  to the performers.
