MUSIC A POPULAR music event returned to the Blacksheep bar in Ryde for a Christmas party.

Headfunk attracted many old friends to the bar and their two-sound system approach catered for a wide range of musical tastes.

Tom Headfunk opened the evening with an electric vinyl-only set of dub, funk, soul and boogie followed by a rock ’n’ roll set from Vectis Radio’s Marco.

Christmas songs were also played and headliners included The Playground Syndicate, who performed on the main stage at the Bestival.

The night ended with a back-to-back vinyl showdown between Tom and DJ Nipsy, who played everything from acid techno to Postman Pat.

The next Headfunk event will take place on March 9, with DJ guests Sepia and Ming Da Merciless plus a house special from Tony Walton and Sam Franklin.
