Wight Hot Pipes on stage in France.
MUSIC ISLAND band Wight Hot Pipes were invited to play in France recently, at the Huasgauen Tattoo and Celtic Show.
The band played some favourite Celtic numbers and at the finale performed alongside the pipes and drums of Basel City pipe band, from Switzerland, playing Highland Cathedral and Amazing Grace.
Other acts included fiddlers from Scotland and dancers and Celtic musicians from France.
The following day, Wight Hot Pipes were on stage for a one-hour performance of their best Celtic rock pieces, including The Gael and Chasing Cars.
Kieron Cooney, who plays bagpipes in the band, said: "Feedback was tremendous and the French really loved our brand of Celtic music and have invited us back for next year’s tattoo."
Wight Hot Pipes are hosting the second Medina Tattoo, in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, at Medina Theatre on Saturday, October 20, at 7pm.
