MUSICTHREE Island musician friends are curating the Shaved Fish stage at WOWfest in August.

Charlie Harris, James Thorpe and Shaun Barker have chosen an eclectic mix of Island and mainland bands to play the three-day festival. Charlie is currently at university studying music management and studio production. James has a primitive vintage studio set up in the top floor of his Ventnor house, co-running the Red Squirrel label with Shaun and Charlie.

Shaun’s involvement in music is, like the others, in production and engineering as well as co-running the studio.

The Shaved Fish stage on Friday has an acoustic-orientated night with hints of folk and country. Saturday steps up to an Indie rock night with a promised exciting new band at the top of the bill.

Sunday is a full-on psychedelia night.

The Shutes, Pale Seas, JC and Angelina, Raff, Faber, Wos, Kris and Kaf, and Hugh Verey are among Island artistes.

WOWfest has confirmed headline acts UB40, Heaven 17 and Madeleine Peyroux, and top DJs, including Paul Oakenfold, Danny Rampling and Bez from The Happy Mondays.

• Promotionally-priced tickets are available for adult weekenders from www.wowfest.co.uk
