MUSICA GIG by Island stars Goodbye Stereo has helped a musician get closer to a fundraising target.

The Wight Rock Bar, Ryde, played host to the pre-Christmas gig, which raised £400 towards Goodbye Stereo guitarist Craig Egerton-Read’s efforts to raise cash for Leukaemia Research.

Craig will run the London Marathon in aid of the charity, in the hope of raising £2,000 in total.

Goodbye Stereo showcased some new material and had support from Southampton band Cardinals and Island musician Claydon Connor.

Goodbye Stereo vocalist Sam Woodford said: "We are focused on new material for a release later in the year but we will definitely be cramming in shows when we get the chance."

The band will play at Quay Arts on February 18. Support Craig at www.justgiving.com/Craig-Egerton-Read
