Gig highlights ‘unknown’ disease

MUSICA CHARITY gig is taking place tonight (Friday) in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice and Endometriosis UK.

The event is being held at the Wight Rock bar, Ryde, starting at 8pm, and is being organised by 21-year-old Islander Bryony Davies, who suffers from Endometriosis.

Bryony said: "Endometriosis is one of the most common gynaecological diseases, affecting around one in ten in women in the UK alone. Yet more than 80 per cent of the public have never heard of it, or don’t know what it is. It’s as common as diabetes in women, and still takes on average eight years to be diagnosed.

"We want to make as much money as we can on this night, and hopefully at future gigs. It’s free entry and all we ask for is a donation."
