MUSICJAZZ was again on the right lines at the Island’s steam railway.
After a trial run last year organisers say this year the concert really did strike a chord with fans.
Goose Island Syncopators opened entertainment before the Swing Commanders brought a wide variety of instruments and Latin and Forties’ tunes to the Havenstreet stage.
Bill toppers the Pasadena Roof Orchestra took the audience back to a world of 1920s and 1930s swing coming to Midsummer Jazz in their 40th anniversary year.
"We are very pleased that we have established an event on the calendar that raises funds to keep the railway running," said steam railway chairman Steve Oates.
"Attendance, at about 1,000 people, was 50 per cent up on last year and we were blessed with a brilliant evening where many people literally got into the swing of things by wearing costume of the day.
"We decided to try it out after Mottistone gave up and it seems to have been music to fans’ ears."
