MUSICWIGHT Harmony Barbershop, which has been going for more than 30 years, is keen to hear from new members.

The group, which, since its foundation in 1979, has raised around £25,000 for the Haylands Farm project run by Mencap, sings 35 gigs during the course of a year.

They rehearse once a week on Thursdays, from 7.30pm to 10pm, at the Methodist Chapel, Station Road, Wootton.

The age range of members is from 30 to approaching 80. Members can be of any ability, any voice type and do not have to be able to read music.

Wight Harmony provides voice training, teaching CD discs, and full stage uniform. Singing is a recognised healthy pursuit and they welcome anyone who wants to come along watch and listen to the practice sessions, try out some singing and eventually, they hope, join with them at

one of their regular rehearsals.
