YOUR anonymous correspondent: We need to unite to save our schools (News Shopper, April 18) misses the point.
The council wants to drive up standards in education, cut class sizes and end mixed-age teaching.
All three will be achieved with our package of proposals.
There is a fall in school numbers and the council is pouring money into buildings which have excess capacity.
The parents and governors Ruxley and Montbelle are not being selfish they are concerned about their children.
As yet, no final decisions have been made by the school organisation committee on these two schools.
This reorganisation offers a real opportunity to deliver wide-scale improvements.
