A chocolate-mad army of twins left no stone unturned on their quest to find Easter eggs in the garden of St Michael's Church last week.

Borehamwood and Elstree Twins Club organised the sponsored Easter egg hunt at the church, in Brook Road, to raise money to buy new toys.

Around 25 children, including seven sets of twins, took part in the search of 100 hidden eggs, which were supplied by generous parents.

Each of the competitors, aged between two and six, was given a sponsorship form so they could ask for donations based on they eggs they found.

Sarah Wheeler, the club's treasurer, said: "The ground was a bit squelchy underfoot, but the kids didn't seem to mind as they all got some eggs."

After the egg hunt, on Wednesday morning, the club took the children to the Activity World children's centre at Hatfield as an Easter treat.

"By the end of the day all of the children were exhausted and full of chocolate," Sarah said.

The club, which meets on the first Wednesday of the month at St Michael's Church Hall, in Brook Road, now has a total of 24 sets of twins.

Launched four years ago, the club is run so that parents of twins can meet others in the same position and help their children make new friends.
