MUSICISLAND-born urban-folkster Martin Newnham releases his debut single on July 6.The release of Come Back Gracey comes ahead of Martin’s debut album City Folk, due to be launched on August 10.
Martin grew up on the Island, before moving to London where he has earned a reputation as a talented song-writer and live performer.
He will be supporting Fairport Convention when the folk-legends play Ryde Theatre on September 25.
"Mum used to sing the Fairport Convention song Matty Groves to me as it was the longest song she knew. I was spellbound and that song has always stayed with me," said Martin.
Come Back Gracie was recorded on the Island through Simon Rodley’s co-operative record label, IOW Music, based in Chale.
