Barnet schools have failed to make a list which claims to include 75 of the best educational institutions in the country.
The government released the names of the so-called beacon schools on Tuesday, but not one was from the borough of Barnet.
The schools have been given a share of £1.8million which they are expected to spend on making themselves "shining examples of education practice".
