MUSICNEWPORT’S Quay Arts brings back Acoustic Originals — a showcase for quality songwriting — on Monday.

March’s bumper line up features David Hughes, an Island-based singer-songwriter, whose music ranges from folk-rock to jazz.

There’s also Poppy & Jake of PoPandJay, plus songwriting guitarist Glen Todd.

Rachel Day and Rafe Spencer will combine heartfelt lyrics and finger-picked acoustic guitar with resonant double bass, while Mark Thompson performs pop and folk.

The Quay also hopes to confirm the Weatherkings, featuring Mike Rodriguez on acoustic guitar.

Centre director, jazz pianist and songwriter Mick Smith is host for the evening. Doors open at 7pm and entry is free.
