Croydon MO 1 Thames Valley 2

Croydon MO 1st X1 failed to turn around their recent dismal form on Saturday which has seen them slip worryingly down the Surrey Men's Division One table

Before Christmas Croydon MO were within reach of the leading two teams but three defeats has seen thema slip from fourth to four from bottom.

MO fielded a weakened team for their match against Thames Valley but started well with Jason Coleman opening the scoring.

MO failed to build on this lead and a string of chances were missed, most notably from captain Jamie Doherty. Thames Valley fought back and equalised early in the second half before stepping up a gear in the closing stages and scoring a well-worked winning goal.

Croydon MO 2nd XI 0 Camberley 4

Croydon MO's 2nd XI were dealt a sublime lesson in pass and move counter attacking from Camberley's experienced centre midfielders in this match.

The game was not as one-sided as the scoreline suggests and Croydon had a couple of chances before Camberley took the lead. Unfortunately the Camberley forward dislocated his elbow as he set up the goal and had to be replaced.

In the second half Croydon enjoyed good possession but were guilty of some wasteful finishing. MO paid dearly when Camberley broke away and the two midfielders exchanged passes around the MO defence to score three times, each goal a carbon copy of the other.

Croydon MO Ladies 4 Kenley 2

Strong winds and driving rain made goalkeeping an impossible task when facing the wind in this Surrey Division Two clash and Kenley took advantage for an early 2-0 lead.

The MO ladies 1st XI have put their poor early season form well behind them and are now made of sterner stuff, this time Helen Anderson striking back with two goals before half-time to level the game.

In the second half MO took control and Ruth Merrett added the third goal before Anderson completed her hat-trick.

Croydon MO 2 Wanderers 0

Croydon continued their domination of Wanderers with this two-goal victory, following on from their 11-goal romp the last time the two teams met and strengthening their promotion claims by moving six points clear of third place.
