JC Grimshaw with his sister, Angelina, who also played on the new album.
ONE of the Island’s best known and respected musicians has released a new album.
JC Grimshaw has teamed up with other talented Islanders, including Paul Armfield on double bass, Chris Jones on drums and his wife, Kathy, for his latest project, JC and The Supernumeraries’ For What You Seek.
The eclectic album features tracks written by JC and inspired by everything from calypso to country.
The list of instruments is equally eclectic, with steel guitars, mandolin, bouzouki, strings, vintage guitars and upright bass all featured.
Other musicians featured on the album include JC’s sister, Angelina, Dave Godby and Mike Rodrigues.
The project took three years, from writing the tracks to recording them and producing the album.
The album’s inlay card artwork has been produced by JC’s father, Johnny.
To mark the album’s launch, JC and the band will perform at Quay Arts on Monday, October 29, when they will be joined by fiddle player Becky Haydock.
