Vintage instruments and sounds lined up

Hot Fingers will be recreating the hot sounds of the Twenties and Thirties at Quay Arts, Newport.

MUSICTHE hot jazz sound of 1920s’ New York and sophisticated swing of the Thirties is coming to Quay Arts, Newport.

Quay Arts’ Jazz Cafe will play host to a performance by smokin’ ensemble Hot Fingers, on Friday, February 17.

The band will perform music on vintage acoustic instruments, recreating the popular French 'coffee house’ sound of Django Reinhardt, with the early blues of Lonnie Johnson, the syncopated Latin rhythms of artists such as Oscar Aleman and the jazz and swing pioneer Eddie Lang.

The show starts at 8pm.
