BEXLEY Council has reopened several footpaths as the foot-and-mouth crisis subsides.
The council has reopened the public right of way within the “infected area” in the north of the borough. This area is more than 3,000 metres from infected places in Essex.
Restrictions outside the infected area have also been lifted, except where there is thought to be a risk from susceptible livestock such as sheep and cattle. There are still restrictions in place on several footpaths and bridleways.
The notices will still be up on the rights of way in and around Joydens Wood, North Cray and on land adjacent to Woodlands Farm as well as Shooters Hill.
