Borehamwood Athletic Youth are now sporting new away shirts thanks to a Drayton Road firm who paid for the tops.

Global International Couriers paid over £200 for Athletic Youth's shirts. Manager, Andy Miller, coach Steve Berry, several players and the team's mascot ten-year-old Robbie Kearns showed off the new shirt outside Global's office last Saturday.

Manager Miller said: "We are very grateful to Global International Couriers for buying the tops for us."

The club is still looking for sponsors. If you are interested in helping out, contact Andy Miller on 0181 953 6898.

And while Athletic's game against Croxley Green was cancelled due to pitch conditions, Youth's veterans' side stepped in to save the day and played the regular side.

The veterans, captained by Gary Beaumont, were trounced 9-4 despite putting in a valiant performance. Five goals from Lee Peters and four from Darren Oxley stole the game. And these were aided in midfield thanks to Youth's new player John Starns.

Youth's manager Andy Miller, who played in defence for the veterans' side, said: "The youth side showed us how the game should have been played. I'm proud of my lads."
