UPDATED 08:56*
THE 2012 Isle of Wight Festival will be pushed back towards the end of June because of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Organisers today (Friday) announced the music festival, at Seaclose Park, Newport, will take place between June 22 and 24.
The event is usually held mid-June.
*Festival promoter John Giddings said: "We have been advised by the ferry companies that to run the same week as half-term and the jubilee would be problematic for our audience and production arrangements.
"We have therefore taken the executive decision to move, for one year only, to June 22, 23 and 24, to ensure a smooth journey for everyone and to get everybody on and off the Island."
It was also revealed on Facebook there will be a number of changes to the layout of the site, in response to issues raised by festival-goers.
Organisers Solo said the campsite will be expanded to create more room — although no more camping tickets will be sold — and there will be changes to the main arena and Strawberry Fields, to create more room, an improved view of the stage and better sound.
Openings between fields will be widened and there will be more toilets.
*For a limited time only, festival-goers will also be able to buy tickets for the 2012 event at 2011 prices, saving £15 on an adult camping ticket.
During a two week pre-sale, starting at noon, on September 30, tickets will be available from Wightlink and Red Funnel and online at Ticket Zone and Absolute Radio.
Vodafone customers will be able to buy tickets even earlier, from September 28, by visiting www.vodafone.co.uk/vip
Tickets will go on general sale in November.
