ALL 39 AS-level English literature students at the Island Innovation Trust VI Form are having their exam papers re-marked, after concerns over their lower than expected grades.
Ten students have already had their exams remarked and all of them have been awarded higher marks as a result.
Eight of them have been awarded higher grades.
Exam board AQA has now offered to remark the remaining 29 English literature papers.
Karen Begley, head of the sixth form, which is attended by students from Carisbrooke and Medina Colleges, said the AS-Level papers were re-marked after teachers raised concerns.
"They were quite shocked at the number of U-grades this summer and at the number of students who didn’t do as well as predicted, so we resubmitted ten papers. Some students have been significantly marked up as a result, by two whole grades in some cases," she said.
"The lower marks would have seriously affected the students’ university applications, so we are much happier with the new marks.
"No reason has been given as to why the marks were so low in the first place but there were clearly some issues there."

There are ten students at Carisbrooke College, 36 at Medina College, 15 at Cowes Enterprise College and 50 at Sandown Bay Academy.
