AN ISLAND beauty salon is incentivising women to sign up for their smear tests, in exchange for a free facial.

Noni Dixon, from Zen Beauty and Hair, launched #fanniesforfacials after reading that smear tests are at a record low.

Writing on social media she said: "You girls just aren't going for them, and it got me thinking. We need them."

Now, Noni has made it her personal mission to encourage as many women as possible to have their smear tests done.

Anyone who gets a smear test between now and the end of February will get a voucher for a free 30-minute facial at Zen.

She said: " No catch, no upsell, no gimmicks. I’ll swap you, your fanny for a facial.

"I don’t care if we end up doing a thousand of these if a thousand women on the Isle of Wight go for a smear.

"It will be worth every hour and penny."

Noni said that the campaign has already been a huge success: "I had a lovely phone call from one of our local GPS surgery’s to say they think it’s a great initiative and that their uptake of appointments for smears the last three days has been phenomenal."

To claim the free facial, send Zen proof of your smear — Noni said this can be anything from a text from the doctor, a letter from the clinic or a selfie with the nurse.
