A SINGER-SONGWRITER from St Helens — one half of the pop duo, Monroe — is already a big hit in the international club scene with her latest single.

Islander Katie Jones and Kelly Schembri, from Malta, are a female vocal house duo making big moves in the electronic dance music scene.

Their third and latest single, Wasted Tears, has already been hailed as a 'party banger', having been remixed by the likes of DJs Luca Deboniare, Lionis, Menshee, Soul Shaker and Serbsican.

The singers, based in London since 2008, have gained a big following having performed alongside Peter Andre at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2013, for their chart success with their own and collaborative projects and their performance at London's parade at new year almost five years ago.

Music runs in the family for Katie. Her father, Gareth Jones, is a peripatetic brass teacher on the Island.

She said: "I grew up on the Island doing all the music-oriented things, such as study at the Platform One music college, as well as being a member of Theatretrain and the Isle of Wight Music Centre.

"We are getting great international press coverage already and have also been featured on rockdafuqout.com. I'm so proud of what we've accomplished this year. We've built a strong brand and continue to do so."
