VISITORS to Osborne House at the weekend had a glimpse of life the last time Great Britain celebrated a Queen's Diamond Jubilee, during the reign of Queen Victoria.

The event featured demonstrations by military reenactors, including a recreation of the horsemanship of the Indian Cavalry.

The day also featured a recreation of the arrival of Queen Victoria to her former home and Victorian entertainment.

See Christian Beasley's video report of the event below:

There were also Jubilee celebrations in Fishbourne on Monday.

CP reader Alexander Wright captured the fun on video at the Fishbourne Green Jubilee party.

Mr Wright said: "Wightlink donated a pig for the pig roast. Locals tended to it during overnight cooking. Residents supplied the food for the buffet and there was music, a raffle and sunshine!

"A very British day out."
