A runaway success

Band on da Run after party, the Cardinal Richelieu play at William Coppin. Fom left Robb Carr, Andy Brining and Keir Hicks.

THE first Band On Da Run has been hailed an amazing success.

Twenty bands battled to play a ten-minute acoustic set in as many venues as possible on Saturday, during the Island's first Band On Da Run.

A six-piece Cowes band, Ian, were the winners after playing 23 venues in six hours.

Organiser Rob Carr said: "There was a real buzz in all the pubs, it was an amazing day.

"Thanks to everyone for taking part."

The event raised more than £500 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
