Stanmore broadcaster and potential London mayoral candidate Trevor Phillips has been dealt a blow by Labour MPs.

He came bottom in a poll of 100 MPs asking who, of four candidates, they would like to be mayor. He also got the second worst score when they were asked who would do the job badly.

Health Secretary Frank Dobson emerged as the person most of the Labour MPs would like to have as mayor.

Glenda Jackson and "Red" Ken Livingstone also came above Mr Phillips, but Brent East MP Mr Livingstone was the least trusted potential mayor.
