He's got high hopes: Crystal Palace Chairman Mark Goldberg.

The new boss of Crystal Palace is not a man to dream small and at theCroydon and South London Chamber of Commerce lunch, Mark Goldberg sharedhis grandiose vision.

He demonstrated how the strategies, teamwork and goals that are socrucial to success in football can be equally applied to all fields.

By the end of this season he expects the club to be "knocking on thedoor" of the Division One exit and is determined not to be frozen outof any European super league.

Such confidence is understandable in a man who established the computerfirm, MSB, in 1984 and within four years was running a £69.8 millionoperation.

Among the keys to his success at MSB was the strict discipline he imposedon the company, the expertise with which he surrounded himself and the "malebonding".

Evidence of a tightly-run ship at Crystal Palace, unparalleled expertisein the form of Terry Venables and still more male bonding shows thatGoldberg is still employing his formula for success.

His current money spinning scheme is to exploit the unrealised potentialof corporate boxes.

Currently they generate a £10,000 income but Goldberg hopes to bringin up to £250,000 selling the advertising to multi-nationals with thecorporate boxes thrown in as part of the deal.

He said: "We are talking about the top global companies. Where elsecould they have access to such a world-wide audience?"
