THE AIR ambulance has been called out after a man collapsed this afternoon (Friday).
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was called to Sandown at around 1pm after a workman collapsed on scaffolding at the Napoleons Landing block of flats.
Paramedics and police were also on scene at around 1.19pm, according to witnesses.
The casualty was taken by road ambulance to St Mary's Hospital at around 1.50pm.
*A spokeswoman for St Mary's Hospital said the air ambulance was sent after the patient complained of chest pains, but after he was assessed on scene it was decided to take him by road to hospital.
