AN ALLEGED rapist remains in custody following today's (Tuesday) hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
Oliver David Lale, 30, was charged in connection with an attack on a 16-year-old girl in public toilets at Medina Road, Cowes, on Friday night.
Mr Lale, of Victoria, Road, Cowes, appeared before magistrates on Monday.
A decision to grant conditional bail by magistrates was immediately opposed by the Crown Prosecution Service and an appeal will be heard at Isle of Wight Crown Court on Friday.
Mr Lale will remain in custody until then.
