A Kingston butcher has received major recognition in the Guild of Q Butchers Business & Marketing Club 1998 Smithfield Awards.
RA Bevan & Sons, in Richmond Road, received the award which is on of the most coveted in the meat industry.
Competition was fierce this year with more than 150 products submitted to a panel of experts including celebrity chef Tony O'Reilly and Marjan Lesnik, former head chef at Claridges in London.
Roy Bevan said: "I work very hard to offer my customers quality products. It is very satisfying to have my efforts recognised in this way."
