Another chance to back milk campaign

The I love Isle of Wight Milk campaign will be at venues around the Isle of Wight over coming weekends.

THE PUBLIC will have the chance to back a campaign to support the Isle of Wight dairy industry on Saturday by signing a petition that will be available at Ryde Farmers' Market.

More than 1,000 people have already signed the "I love Isle of Wight Milk" petition which was launched at the Garlic Festival by Island dairy farmers working with MP Andrew Turner.

The petition, which calls for more shops, supermarkets and organisations to use Isle of Wight milk and pay a fair price, will be available next to the market, outside the Co-operative supermarket, from 12 noon.

Campaigners are due to meet the following Saturday, September 15, at Falcon Cross, Shanklin and the Saturday after that at Church Litten, Newport.

Supporters can attend or contact Mr Turner on 530808 or mail@islandmp.com

We have the same problem in Australia where the supermarkets do not pay the dairy farmers a sustainable price for their milk .
Things are so bad , the Australian dairy farmers are looking to sell their milk to Asia to get a fair price .
