FRACK Free Isle of Wight are holding a demonstration outside County Hall tomorrow (Wednesday) before the full council meeting at 6pm.
Members of the anti-fracking campaign group will be asking questions of current councillors.
The group will also be producing information packs to go out to prospective candidates for the May elections, to raise awareness of the impacts of fossil fuel exploitation on the people of the Isle of Wight.
Similar information packs will be going out to businesses and groups in the near future.
The group are committed to raising awareness of the local, national and global implications of fossil fuel exploitation.
In particular, the group wants to ensure that residents of the Isle of Wight are aware of the licence covering large areas of the Island, for which planning applications will likely be submitted for drilling.
Frack Free Isle of Wight are also inviting Islanders to submit photographs of their favourite water places on the Isle of Wight, to celebrate World Water Day, on March 22.
The photos will be displayed on the group's website, www.frackfreeisleofwight.org. Send pictures to ffsyl@btinternet.com, with your name and where the photo was taken.
