THE Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance’s popular Bag a Bra appeal is up and running once again.
Women are being urged to donate their old or unwanted bras to the air ambulance, so they can be cheaply sold on to women in West Africa.
Bras can be dropped off at Sainsbury’s stores between Monday and Thursday, May 24, which has been designated Bag a Bra Day.
Air ambulance chief executive John Perry said: "Our recycling partner, Bag It Up, has arranged for these bras to be sent out to Africa and we are very pleased to be able to do something for others, while raising funds to help keep the air ambulance flying and saving lives.
"We are extremely grateful to Sainsbury’s for its help and 'support’ for this year’s campaign as it is only through the generosity of individuals and companies such as Sainsbury’s we are able to raise the £3,600 needed each day to maintain the air ambulance service."
