MORE than 250 Watford Council tenants will soon benefit from an efficient new, low energy boiler as part of the replacement programme carried out by the council's building maintenance team.
Tenants whose boilers were identified as being too fragile and costly to repair are scheduled in to the programme that will mean lower heating costs and safer homes.
Commenting on the work, Councillor Steve Palmer, executive board member for performance and resources said: "We are delighted to celebrate the installation of the 100th boiler as it shows we are on target to complete the work on schedule.
"The boiler replacement programme is just one part of the switch we are making from reactive repairs to planned maintenance of council properties.
"This means we will be getting ahead and dealing with issues before they become a problem."
