ISLAND residents and businesses are being urged to put on something yellow on Friday to celebrate the good work at the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

The Go Yellow Day fundraising event is now in its fourth year with one of the biggest, fun parts of the day, the Go Yellow business competition, sponsored by Isle of Wight Radio.

The station will be touring the Isle of Wight and broadcasting live from companies and groups getting into the spirit of the day and supporting the hospice at the same time.

Central Garage Citroen on the Dodnor Estate, Newport, is lending the hospice fundraising team a yellow Citroen to tour the Island, visiting other businesses along the way.

Other events include a Go Bananas event at Sainsbury's, Newport, where bananas will be handed out to shoppers while Isle of Wight Radio broadcast from there.

Co-op stores across the Island will be joining in with staff wearing yellow and Arreton Old Village will take Brian the Hospice Banana on a half marathon across the IW.

staff will also be wearing yellow and having a cake sale and a raffle for a special yellow hamper.
