DETECTIVES are appealing for more witnesses after an assault on Isle of Wight motorcycle trials star, Chris Stay.
An investigation is continuing into the attack, which happened between 7pm and 9pm on Saturday, June 23 at the Isle of Wight Festival site.
The assault, which it is alleged was carried out by a group, took place between the Blue One campsite and main entrance to the Penny Lane area of the festival site and left Chris, 17, with a broken jaw in three places.
He was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, for surgery but his father, Alan, said he would be out of action for as long as 12 weeks, during which time he would miss two British championships and an international trial.
Detectives said they were pursuing several leads and taking statements from witnesses who have contacted police.
The suspects are described as a white man, aged 19, of skinny build and medium length blond hair, and a white man, aged 20, of large build and with light brown blond hair.
