YOUNG people are being urged to learn more about apprenticeships by Isle of Wight MP Andrew Turner.
Mr Turner will host an event at his constituency office, at the Riverside Centre, Newport, where Island training providers and employers will be on hand to offer advice about apprenticeship opportunities.
People will also be able to apply for vacancies on the day.
Mr Turner said: "The government is working hard to promote apprenticeships and has created 1.6 million apprenticeship places since 2010, giving young people the experience and skills they need to build a career.
"I am putting this event on as I wanted to give Island young people, their parents and local employers an opportunity to find out more about apprenticeships and what is involved."
Small employers are welcome to attend to find out about government support for businesses that take on apprentices.
The event will be held on Saturday, September 13, between 10am and 2pm.
The Isle of Wight Council, HTP Training, Smart Training and Recruitment, the Isle of Wight College, Care Learning Centre and FNTC Training will be among the organisations attending.
