ARMED police officers have arrested a man in Ryde this afternoon (Thursday) on suspicion of making threats to kill.
The officers attended a property in Arthur Street, Ryde, following a report of concerns for a person's safety.
A 59-year-old man was arrested at the scene just before 1pm.
Armed police were called to the scene, but on their arrival, an armed response was not necessary to deal with the incident, according to a Hampshire Constabulary spokesman.
The police also confirmed no firearms were seized during the isolated incident.
Road closures between the junctions of West Street and Pellhurst Road have been put in place while officers carry out inquiries in Arthur Street.
