A TEENAGER was allegedly attacked with a weapon in Cowes on Sunday.
The 19-year-old man from Worthing, West Sussex, was in York Street at 12.45am, when the attack is said to have taken place.
Police were called to the scene and arrested a 25-year-old on suspicion of unprovoked wounding with a weapon and asked nearby residents to check their gardens for discarded clothing.
The arrested man appeared at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Michael Holmes, of Pelham Road, Cowes, did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody until February 18.
