TWO iconic flying cars landed at Thompson’s Garden Centre, Newchurch, on Sunday.

Back to the Future’s time travelling DeLorean and children’s favourite Chitty Chitty Bang Bang shared the spotlight after together taking a charity drive around the Isle of Wight.

The DeLorean, famously piloted by 'Doc’ Brown and Marty McFly in the 'Back to the Future’ films is the creation of American couple, Oliver and Terry Holler from South Carolina.

Their painstaking recreation of the time vehicle has toured Europe for the past few months to raise funds for the Michael J Fox Parkinson’s Foundation.

Michael, who played Marty in the hit 1980's films, was diagnosed with the condition which causes uncontrollable shaking.

Both Oliver and Terry have already raised more than $500,000 for the foundation and have crossed all 50 American States, as well as touring Europe.

They became friends with Chitty’s owners, Nick and Carolyn Pointing, around ten years ago, and after visiting Ireland where the DeLorean was made last week, dropped in to see the Island couple.
