HADDENHAM Parish Council Chairman Angela Hart announced at the March meeting on Monday that Paul Barron has resigned from the council. Now the council is asking anyone who is interested to offer their services.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Elastic Band Youth Ensemble who carried off the George Ort trophy at Milton Keynes Festival last week. The group was formed by the late Dr Jane Walker and her three children. Together with three other young musicians and conducted by Clare Showen, who has succeeded Dr Walker, the group played a range of classical and modern works to an adjudication panel who could find no fault.

LOOK in your cupboards and see if you have a Cub Scout scarf. Richard Lay, leader of the Haddenham Pack, will be pleased to have it. Since re-forming the pack in January, numbers have risen to 18 and Richard has found that there is a three-month waiting list for scarves. Ring 01844 212374 if you can help.

HAVE you seen the millennium seat under the trees near the shops at Banks Parade? It was purchased with some of the proceeds of the village millennium events . The actual siting was a democratic process a passing pensioner chose the place near the path under the trees.

HELP Two appeals have come to my notice this week. Adult volunteers are needed to help run cycling awareness courses for children aged ten and over. Forms are available in the library and should be returned to the Junior School.

on Saturday Karen Ellis is opening her home, 4 Flint Street, from 10am to midday with a range of home-made goods, coffee, soup, bring-and-buy, and raffle. All in aid of Haddenham Third World Link Karen is the newly elected chairman.

THERE will be an exhibition about the proposed traffic calming at Woodways and Fort End in the Mabel Parkinson Room of the village hall on Saturday, from 10am to 2pm.

ON Monday at 8pm, the Third World Link Group have an open evening when Helen Graham-Harrison from ADEC will give a talk on Fair Trade, which will include videos and games. This coincides with the Fairtrade Fortnight which is from March 4 to 11.
