CHRISTMAS came early to Barton Manor.

The fifth annual Christmas fair took place last Sunday (November 12) and raised more than £7,000 for Challenge and Adventure.

Over a thousand people visited the privately-owned manor house, which featured a variety of Christmas activities — from roasting chestnuts and mulled wine, to a blow-up snow dome.

There were performances by the Bailey Academy of Irish dancing and Dr Kieran Cooney on pipes.

The day also featured an appearance from Enchanted Isle Disney princesses Jasmine and Cinderella.

Challenge and Adventure fundraising and events manager, Karen Eeles, said: "Everyone said what a fabulous atmosphere there was.

"We are really grateful to the owners for allowing us to use their home."
