MORE than £8,000-worth of cash and property was taken following a break-in at an off-licence at the weekend.
The burglars also caused thousands-of-pounds-worth of damage to the shop in Ordnance Road, Enfield, during the raid on Saturday morning.
More than £5,000 worth of cigarettes, bottles of Champagne, food and £1,100 in cash were taken along with hundreds of Pokemon cards, video equipment and even a security camera.
The incident is believed to have taken place between 10pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday.
Police say the team broke into an empty flat above the shop through an open window and broke their way through the floorboards.
They then broke through the ceiling of the shop and plundered the shelves, before smashing their way out through the back door. An estimated £2,000-worth of damage was caused in the raid.
The 53-year-old owner of the shop alerted police after arriving for work the next morning.
A spokesman for the police said: 'Because of the time of the incident there are no witnesses but we are calling for anyone who may be able to help with the investigation to give us a call.'
Anyone who may be able to help detectives is asked to call Edmonton police station on 020 8345 4442.
