Bestival 2016. The Cure headline the main stage. Picture by Robin Crossley.
THE future may have landed at Bestival, but The Cure provided a blast from the past when they returned to headline the main stage.
Following an epic show five years ago, they were back last night (Saturday) for more – chasing the day's rain away with another incredible performance.
Fans were treated to hits including Friday I'm in Love, Caterpillar, Pictures of You, Just like Heaven, Let's Go to Bed and Boys Don't Cry, ahead of an encore featuring A Forest, The Lovecats and Why Can't I be You?
Also playing the Main Stage yesterday were Ride, Wolf Alice and Craig David, bringing his TS5 party from Miami to the Isle of Wight. Mixing his own hits in with old school anthems and classic tracks including House of Pain's Jump Around and TLC's No Scrubs, he drew a huge crowd.
Elsewhere, Leftfield rocked the Big Top and Skream headlined the Spaceport, following a cracking set by Bestival favourite DJ Yoda who mixed tunes by Little Richard, James Brown, Snoop Dogg and Lou Reed with his usual dazzling dexterity.
Today (Sunday) will see Jagwar Ma and The Human League play the Big Top, Fatboy Slim on the decks at the Spaceport and Bastille on the Main Stage, ahead of Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul's headline set to bring Bestival to a close.
As always, there is plenty of entertainment away from the main stages. Show off your skills at the Caravanserai dance off, relax with a spot of yoga, check out the Wall of Death motorbike stunt riders or visit the smallest pub in the world, The People's Front Room.
You could take part in a discussion about the future of sex and spirituality at the Amphitheatre, find secret speakeasy the Blind Tiger and, if you're feeling loved up, why not get hitched in the inflatable church?
